This conceptual paper explores the adaptation and application of the Socratic method in online education, emphasizing the challenges and opportunities inherent in transitioning from traditional, live classroom environments to digital platforms. The research employs an action-oriented approach, synthesizing observations and discussions from educators representing diverse cultural and professional backgrounds. It highlights the interplay of historical educational philosophies and contemporary teaching practices, focusing on the integration of AI-driven technologies. The study introduces a Neo-Socratic approach, which incorporates technological innovations and fosters critical thinking, inclusivity, and engagement across multicultural and online learning contexts. While addressing the potential of AI to personalize and enrich educational experiences, the paper also discusses its limitations, advocating for a balanced use that complements human-centric learning. Through comparative insights from global education systems, this paper provides a framework for reimagining the Socratic method in the digital age.
